Our Story
Janis first threw open the barn door of Daizy in 2008 and was joined shortly afterwards by Julie. Inspired by the historic surroundings of the converted potting sheds set against the walled garden and nestled in the beautiful countryside in rural Hertfordshire, they set about creating original floral designs. They can often be found, in wellies and with dog, foraging in the surrounding woodlands for inspiration and materials.
Although the barn is an ideal environment for the flowers and the freedom from having a shop means they can give projects proper time and thought, at 6am on a cold winter's morning when the flowers have failed to open as expected or the fresh delivery from Holland is delayed by fog, a well developed sense of humour, not to mention thermal underwear is a must!
With over 30 years combined floristry experience Daizy specialise in personal service with a high quality design, deliberately choosing to work in the areas in which they excel. Although noted for personalised wedding flowers, they also care very much about funerals, updating and designing sympathy tributes to a consistently high standard. They believe that this work is as important a celebration of life as a wedding is of love.
Daizy are well practised in the art of the artificial, where all is not what it seems as they create stunning artificial designs for contract or one-off pieces whilst always researching the latest trends and using only the best quality faux flowers and plants. For large events they artlessly mix both fresh and artificial flowers offering customers and clients the widest possible choice of materials, the only criteria being that they must be Absolutely Fabulous!
